Responsibilities for TSG
Mr. May, a Georgia Certified Public Accountant
with experience in the accounting and financial industry since 1986,
joined TSG in 2001. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the
company and its subsidiaries. Mr. May works closely with TSG's
design/build and operations personnel in all locations to provide
profitability analysis, cost management, financial processing and
forecasting. He also works extensively with the company's information
software and systems. Mr. May works in the company's corporate office
in Savannah, Georgia.
Experience
Mr. May began his career as a staff auditor
with the accounting firm of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.
He later transferred to the firm of Price Waterhouse, where
he attained the position of senior audit accountant. He
has auditing experience in a variety of industries, including
manufacturing, shipping, construction, financial and education.
In 1989, Mr. May accepted a position with
Savannah Foods and Industries, Inc., one of the nation’s
largest sugar processors with over $1 billion in annual
sales. After serving in a variety of financial positions
within the company, he became the assistant controller in
1997. During his tenure at Savannah Foods, the company was
acquired by Imperial Sugar Company to become the largest
sugar processor in the U.S., with approximately $2 billion
in annual sales. Along with his financial experience, Mr.
May also was directly involved in two major enterprise software
implementations. In 1994, he participated in the Savannah
Foods implementation of the BPCS enterprise software system.
Beginning in 1999, he was a member of a management team
responsible for the Imperial Sugar implementation of the
Peoplesoft enterprise software system. During this time,
he directed the integration testing and solutions for the
inventory, procurement and financial modules of the software.
Later, he became a member of a five-person team responsible
for providing system solutions and direction for the entire
nationwide Imperial Sugar enterprise. Mr. May continued
to serve in this broad capacity until he left Imperial Sugar
to join TSG.
