Responsibilities for TSG

As Director of BVI Operations for TSG, Mr. Politzi's responsibilities include managing TSG's operations in the British Virgin Islands, which includes supervising plant operators and mechanics, optimizing plant performance and plant troubleshooting, equipment evaluation, maintenance and spare parts inventory. Until recently, he was the Director of TSG's operations in the United States Virgin Islands, where TSG operates and maintains more than 10 water and wastewater treatment plants. He also is responsible for contract compliance, staffing needs, plant modifications and business development on BVI. Mr. Politzi works in the company's operations office on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

Experience

Mr. Politzi is an experienced mechanic and plant operator with a realistic and effective approach to problem-solving, even under the most challenging conditions. He has been involved in all aspects of seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) in the Caribbean, including construction, startup and operations. He has been responsible for SWRO plants from 10,000 gallons per day (gpd) to plants operating in excess of 1,000,000 gpd. Additionally, Mr. Politzi has expertise in developing and scheduling preventive maintenance programs and providing mechanical input into plant design. Mr. Politzi was the Site Manager for the Westin, St. John, USVI 160,000 gpd SWRO Plant. He also provided site start-up and training at the Necker Island, BVI, 60,000 gpd SWRO.

While with Aqua Design Ltd. in Road Town, Tortola, Mr. Politzi was the Assistant Island Manager of the Virgin Islands Operations. As the Island Manager he set up operations in St.. Thomas/St. John, USVI. He was also the site supervisors/construction manager for the construction of the 90,000 gpd SWRO, for the Texaco Treatment Center.

Mr. Politzi was involved with the initial startup and diagnosis of a 1,000,000 gpd SWRO plant in Curacao, NV. He was also the Site Manager for construction of a 90,000 gpd SWRO plant at Paradise Island, Bahamas. As Operations Manager/Field Technician, his responsibilities included construction, operation and normalization of SWRO desalination plants.

As an Operations Engineer with Ocean Conversion Cayman Ltd. in Grand Cayman, BWI, Mr. Politzi commissioned two Caterpillar 3408 diesel-driven positive displacement union pumps. Additionally, Mr. Politzi modified and adjusted the drive system for local conditions.

For Ocean Conversion BVI Ltd., Baughers Bay, Tortola, BVI, Mr. Politzi was an operations engineer. In that role, he was responsible for daily operations of the SWRO desalination plant, producing over 600,000 gpd.. He also maintained two 330-KW diesel generators, achieving an on-line factor of over 95 percent. He implemented a preventative maintenance schedule, which included a critical spare parts list.

Education and Certification

  • OSHA Site Supervisor -- Hazwoper training 40-hour course.
  • Denver Automotive and Diesel College - Studies included engine rebuilding, fuel injection, computer controlled systems, air conditioning and electrical diagnosis.
