Membrane Bioreactors

Membrane bioreactors, also known as MBR’s, are the most advanced form of wastewater treatment available. MBR plants treat wastewater to the highest tertiary standards, generally with fewer steps and in a smaller footprint than conventional treatment plants. They can also handle widely varying flows more effectively than conventional plants. MBR plants are ideal where land is at a premium, where odor cannot be tolerated or where effluent reuse is necessary or desirable, as for landscape or golf course irrigation.

For these reasons, MBR plants are often the perfect and most cost-effective solution for resort properties, municipalities and private communities considering expansion or moving toward reuse of treated effluent.

Other Wastewater Treatment Plants

TSG personnel have extensive experience with and expertise in other more traditional types of wastewater treatment as well, including extended aeration and sequencing batch reactor (SBR) plants. While these types of treatment do not typically yield all the benefits of membrane bioreactors (MBR’s), they often cost less than MBR’s and can provide effective treatment where reuse is not as critical and space is readily available.
