TSG Water Resources and its financing partner, WaterMark Resource Development, have established TSG Water Partners to provide resorts with the opportunity to establish their water and wastewater treatment systems as private utilities.
A “private utility” is an arrangement in which TSG Water Partners takes full risk and responsibility for designing, building and operating desalination and/or wastewater treatment systems, including all necessary capital, and the resort simply pays for water and wastewater treatment services as needed. This service is intended to replicate the services of a municipal utility in the US, but the systems will be and remain a part of the critical infrastructure of resort.
As resorts and private residential communities begin to emerge from the COVID-19 crisis, many resorts are considering converting their properties to a private utility arrangement not only for the immediate financial benefits that it may provide but also for the long-term assurance of high quality, reliable utility service for their resorts.
